Arab world


The Arab World (Arabic: العالم العربي) (al-`alam al-`arabi) stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Persian Gulf in the east, and from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to Central Africa and the Indian Ocean in the south. Consisting of 23 countries with a combined population of some 325 million people, and spanning two continents, it is the largest geo-linguistic unit in the world after Russia.
